Wait, what exactly is Squidoo again?
- Squidoo is a fast-growing community of thousands of people who build web pages (what we call “lenses”) about any topic at all -- their business, travels, hobbies, favorite books, tips on dog training, anything.
- Each lens that someone builds earns a royalty from the page’s Google ads and affiliate commerce. We encourage people to donate their royalties to any of the 70+ charities that we work with. We also donate 5% of our overall revenue (that’s revenue, not profits) to charity.
- About 2 million unique visitors arrive on our site every month. (For reference, that’s more than BarnesandNoble.com.)
How does Squidoo benefit nonprofits?
- By signing up as a Squidoo nonprofit partner, we make it easy for our 40,000+ lensmasters (and every single one of your members) to donate royalties to you, for free. We send you a check via PayPal, every month, forever.
- More importantly, we help you empower your existing supporters to contribute to your cause in a new, free way -- by building a Squidoo lens about any topic they’d like. In just 10 minutes they are spreading the word about your good work, generating a dime or a dollar a day, and making a difference in the world.
- Traffic traffic traffic. We help you get in front of NEW potential supporters. Google and search engines love handbuilt, personalized pages. Your members can build thousands of them, each recommending something they care about and pointing traffic (and proceeds) back to you. Better yet, every page your members build has the chance of introducing your work to new web searchers.

Great, how do I apply to be a Squidoo nonprofit partner?
We accept up to 10 large-scale VIP nonprofits every quarter. For each of these organizations we build a customized Squidoo headquarters page and promote the nonprofit heavily among our community. Nonprofits that fit this bill generally have donor bases in excess of 15,000.
Smaller nonprofits, don’t fret. You can still take advantage of Squidoo’s benefits. If you’re interested in asking your supporters to build lenses for you, we’re willing to send you donations and tell your story just the same.
To apply as a Squidoo nonprofit partner, please send an email to charity [at] squidoo.com. Include your name, title, organization, mailing address, website URL, and a short description of your cause.
Before you apply, please note that…
- All Squidoo nonprofits must be registered 501(3)c organizations under the IRS.
- If you don’t include all of the information – URL being the most important – we may not be able to respond to your request.
