Funeral of media personnel killed in SLAF attack held in Ki'linochchi

Hundreds of residents from areas of Vanni paid their last respects to two of the three media personnel of Voice of Tigers (VOT) slain in the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) bombing of the radio station in Ki'linochchi Tuesday. People paid respects to the remains of Ms.Iasaivili Chempiyan and M. Suresh Limbio rested on flower bed at Ki'linochchi Cultural Hall at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, sources in Ki'linochchi said. Reporters without Borders said the attack which killed eleven persons and wounded fifteen, was a "war crime."

Isaivili Chempiayan leaves behind three children, and Suresh Limbio, one child. Both are residents of Ki'linochchi.

The spouses of the killed media workers lit the lamps of reverence paying their last respects. The event was presided by Kil'inochchi Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) political head Sivanath.

The parents of the deceased garlanded the remains.

Hundreds of people, students and representatives of several organizations besides LTTE members paid their last respect to the two slain media workers.
