LTTE to release two POWs

The Liberation Tigers said today that two more Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers who surrendered to them during their recent operation 'Unceasing waves 3' will be released on Sunday, as a "gesture of goodwill".

LTTE sources in London said the POWs are being released on orders of the LTTE leader Mr.Vellupillai Pirapaharan,.

The soldiers, William Wickremesinghe (00806) of Mathirigiriya, Polannaruwa and Guneratne Bandara (00305) of Darmapala Mawatte, Hingurangoda, will be handed over to the Internation Committee of the Red Cross, they said.

On November 27, the Tigers released seven other SLA soldiers, also captured during Operation Unceasing Waves 3í, to coincide with the Heroesí Day function.
