Did you know that high rise buildings get hungry? Well apparently 1.8 billion dollar mega resorts do. It was sad yet amusing to witness what you will see below. I cant wait to go again but next time I am bringing my own hard hat and protective goggles!
Join me for a photo adventure of the Cosmopolitan Resort Casino in Sin City
Make sure to check out our video and blog section at bottom of this page!
I first scoped out my target from the Bellagio parking garage. The first thing I noticed was the main Cosmo tower filling in the gap between the two Jockey Club time share properties.
The steel monster lurks behind its prey (south)
A closeup of beams while the main MGM MIRAGE CityCenter hotel by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects gets glass in the background
I had enough of taking pictures from far away. If I wanted cutting edge images I was going to have to go into the war zone. I snapped the below shots of the Beach Tower and the hole filling in for main resort then set off to sneak into the Jockey Club parking area so I could get to the pool deck.
The Beach Club Tower climbing just east of JC T1
The hole fills in with subterranean parking as the CityCenter project looms behind
As I arrived on scene I immediately heard loud banging, clinking and this really cool buzzing noise that would give a Jockey Club guest with a hangover a good reason to jump.
To get good photos I have to go through the underground area at the Jockey Club and to this staircase that leads up to the JC pool deck. It used to be open air...well not anymore. Now there is a steel wall there.
This staircase felt dangerous as huge bangs echoed above
It all started to set in after I hesitantly ran up the staircase using my hands as protective head gear. The noise was insane. Hear it yourself be watching my Cosmopolitan Resort Casino construction video (The buzzing and banging gets good around the 10 second mark)
The south facing units at Jockey Club now have amazing views of beautiful steel, bolts and some other nice metals. Just four weeks ago they had Strip views. (North facing Cosmo units will not start until they are above the JC)
Oh honey I just love our south facing steel view!
For some reason I don't get as tan at this pool as I used too. Its almost like there is a 50 story building next door
Oh another day in paradise...buzz...bang...screeeeech!!!
It was time to get out of the battlefield. I needed some far away shots to cap off the adventure. For that I needed to head to my secret location. I scurried back down the staircase of doom and ran to my truck to hit the Las Vegas Strip.
The Beach Club Tower (left) should feature amazing Bellagio water fountain views
One building digested one to go!
In Closing
While it will be a fun and entertaining resort casino I am most excited about the Cosmopolitan luxury condominiums that will grace this project. 1,200 in the main hotel and another 700 in the skinny tower. These condotel units will be delivered turn key and fully furnished.
Most of my clients purchased property here as a 2nd home investment that they can come use when they are on vacation and throw into the rental program when not using.
As of June 2007 there is not much pre construction opportunity left. About 10% of the project. The good news? Many prime location units are now being released in the Beach Club Tower with huge wrap around terraces!
See floor plans of the studio and one bedroom units at my previous Cosmopolitan Beach Club Tower update. Also feel free to call me direct about the penthouse inventory.

The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino is well under construction on the Las Vegas Strip. This video shows how close it is to The Jockey Club and the noise factor that comes along with that.
